How to find an old bookmark on X (Twitter)
You bookmarked it months ago. You know roughly what it said. And X gives you a reverse-chronological list with search that matches almost nothing. Here's every real way to dig up an old bookmark, from free-and-tedious to instant.
In-app: scroll, and the search that sometimes works
The bookmarks page has a search box on some platforms, and it's literal: exact-ish keyword matches against the post text. If you remember a distinctive word the post actually used, try it first — it occasionally saves you. If you remember the MEANING but not the wording ("that thread about pricing psychology"), literal search whiffs, and you're down to scrolling. Scrolling works best when you can date the save ("around when I was researching X") — jump-scroll to that era rather than reading every item.
The author route and the archive route
Two decent workarounds. If you remember WHO posted it, go to their profile and use X's main search with from:username plus a keyword — often faster than the bookmarks list itself. If you've downloaded your data archive, the bookmarks file inside is text you can Ctrl+F across, which beats thumb-scrolling — at the cost of the archive being however old it is.
